Groundbreaking Ceremony for Nature Park Playground and Zipline

On May 5th, 2021, a Groundbreaking Ceremony was held at Gwen Cherry Park for the Nature Park Playground and Zipline that is being built on the park. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava gave the keynote remarks celebrating this important infrastructure improvement to the park. Remarks were also given by District 2 Commissioner Jean Monestime and Parks Director Maria Nardi. H. T. Smith spoke on behalf of the Gwen Cherry Park Foundation, Inc., with the support of Board members Elaine Black and Jerry Sawyer who were present and participating.

Children from Gwen Cherry Park were out in force to celebrate the beginning of the construction of a playground and zipline that they have been looking forward to for years. We are looking forward to its completed construction and official launch in 2022.
