25 Jun ABC Challenge 2021
In July, four participants engaged in Gwen Cherry Park’s ABC Challenge. At Gwen Cherry Park, we are taking a great stance for literacy and creativity. The following participants; Jacoby Hopkins, Victoria Canto, Zariah Eaford, and X’zavier Williams helped capture their own creative way to bring the alphabet to life.
Participant Jocoby Hopkins took each letter of the alphabet and described his life; describing things he is grateful for and things he wants. Additionally, participant Victoria Canto used the alphabet to describe careers that she researched and plugged into her speech. Lastly, participants Zaria Eaford and X’zavier Williams also discussed some careers starting with the letters of the alphabet.
Parents took the time to prepare their children for the challenge and get them ready for the photoshoot. This experience impacted four families financially, and twenty participants in total intellectually. Jacoby Hopkins came in first place and won a prize of $100.00. Victoria Canto came in second and won $75.00. Zariah Eaford came in third place and won a prize of $50.00. X’zavier Williams came in 4th place and won $25.00. The ABC Challenge event was a truly memorable experience for our kids.
