17 Apr Miami Marlins & Feeding South Florida Food Distribution
On every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, the Gwen Cherry Park has held a drive-through food distribution for families in the surrounding communities. The food is provided by the Miami Marlins and Feeding South Florida. For the months of January, February, and March, over 500 families were fed. Since the rise of the Coronavirus in early 2020, there has been a lack of access to sufficient food because of limited financial resources. The economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have driven thousands of people to food banks around South Florida seeking meals for their families. Gwen Cherry Park is proud to lend a helping hand to the families in our community to remind them that they are not alone.
