20 Feb Black History Reflection Event
On February 19th, 2021, the NFL YET Center held a reflection day to honor several pioneers in African American History. With 42 kids in attendance, the event had several performances by our youth and a sit-down conversation led by Misti Barber with youth participants. The world seems small to a child with no knowledge of its history. As Marcus Garvey once said, “A people without the knowledge of their history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots.” Black History is full of heroes whose perseverance, bravery, and goodness is perfect to share with even the youngest of learners.
