07 Jul Park Celebrates Renovations
The NFL YET Center at Gwen Cherry Park has improvements as a result of a $15,000 grant from the NFL Foundation. The Dolphins helped celebrate the renovated Fitness Room and the new Weight Room at the Park. Article published in the Miami Times.
Since opening on December 16, 1996, the NFL YET Miami has received generous financial support from the Miami Dolphins. At the recent ribbon cutting ceremony and room dedication of the refurbished recreational facilities, representatives from The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, the NFL Foundation, and the Office of Miami- Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime joined board members of the Gwen Cherry Park Foundation. The gathering was also attended by Dolphins players Terrence Fede, defensive end, and linebacker Chris McCain, along with cheerleaders Vodi and Brittany. Jason Jenkins, Sr. Vice-President for Communications and Community Affairs represented the Dolphins and Ashley Gillis, Community Relations Coordinator, along with Gwen Cherry park Foundation Board members also attended.
