Erica Wright was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated cum laude from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics and Economics and a minor in Management and Organization. Following her graduation, Ms. Wright attended the University of Miami School of Law where she obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
Ms. Wright has experience working with federal, state and local government as well as for profit and not for profit corporations. She is Florida Bar Board certified in the area of City, County and Local Government law. She has held the positions of former assistant city attorney for the City of Miami and assistant city attorney and acting city attorney for the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
Additionally, Ms. Wright was a commissioner for the Miami-Dade County Commissionon Ethics and Public Trust. She is past president of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association. Ms. Wright was a member of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Board of Directors, having previously served as its treasurer and Vice President of Regional Programs.
Erica Wright is a member of the Dade County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and has served for several years on its Internal Audit Committee. She is president of the South Florida Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College.
