On August 5th, 2021, GCPF Board of Directors met with the Program Director for Guitars Over Guns to initiate bringing their program over to Gwen Cherry Park! Radio Personality Papa Keith, and the Program Director of Miami-Dade County Parks were also in attendance. We are excited to partner with a nonprofit that will help our inner-city youth find their voice and reach their potential as tomorrow's leaders.

On Saturday, August 14th, 2021 from 12-4pm, Gwen Cherry Park will be having our 2nd Annual Back To School Festival!
There will be live music and performances, bounce houses, games, cash and laptop giveaways, autographed footballs, and more!

This event is dedicated to increase literacy by providing a platform for participants to present oratorical skills. Prizes will consist of Dr. Seuss products; books, hats, and t-shirts.
This event will be a forum for teens and kids to have conversations about their dream, goals, and community. The “Kave” component creates a special and safe place for children and youth to share their thoughts and opinions.
This event will be dedicated to give participants an opportunity to enjoy a late afternoon of fun an engagement with one another. Participants that have a jovial personality will be given a chance to bring their skills to the stage.
